Experience the amazon with a two-day tour and enjoy the wild jungle and the wonderful Sandoval lake. This tour is perfect for people who don’t have lots of time but still want to enjoy the wildlife and Tambopata reserve zone.
Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, known as the biodiversity capital of Peru, our staff will meet you at the airport or bus terminal. Please inform us of your arrival time so we can coordinate a smooth transfer from your arrival point or hotel.
Once the group is gathered, we will head to Puerto Capitanía, where a motorized boat will be waiting for us. A scenic 30-minute ride along the Madre de Dios River will take you to your Amazon lodge. Upon arrival, our team will warmly welcome you and introduce you to the 10-hectare natural retreat. Your guide will ensure your bungalow is ready for a comfortable stay.
If you have any room preferences, especially for families or couples, please let us know in advance so we can better accommodate your needs.
After settling in or resting, you will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared with local ingredients. Later, the group will meet to discuss the afternoon and evening activities.
You will wake up early for an exciting day of hiking and exploration. The adventure begins with a visit to the Tambopata National Reserve, home to the beautiful Lake Sandoval. This reserve is a true biodiversity treasure, offering opportunities to spot wildlife such as snakes, howler monkeys, and a wide variety of birds.
Upon reaching the lake, you will board a small canoe with your guide to explore the area and search for giant river otters. With a bit of luck, you may also see caimans, piranhas, snakes, tapirs, turtles, cormorants, herons, and many colorful birds.
After the excursion, you will return to the lodge for a full breakfast before taking the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. At Puerto Capitanía, your transfer will be ready to take you to your hotel, bus terminal, or airport (approximately between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.).
Important: If you have an early flight or bus on the second day, the itinerary can be adjusted upon request.
