TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE – TERRATRAVELEXPERIENCE

This document establishes the contractual conditions governing the relationship between the client (hereinafter, “The Passenger”) and TerraTravelExperience (hereinafter, “The Agency”), based in Cusco, Peru. By making a reservation, The Passenger bindingly accepts the following terms:

1. Reservations and Payments

  • Confirmation Deposit: To guarantee any service, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost (or the specific amount indicated in the quote) is required. This amount is used for the immediate purchase of permits and tickets.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 15 days before the start of the service, or as previously agreed in writing.

  • Payment Methods: We accept bank transfers and credit/debit card payments. Any international transfer fees or card surcharges shall be covered by The Passenger.

2. Documentation and Personal Data

  • Accuracy of Data: The Passenger is responsible for providing exact information (Full names, passport number, date of birth, and nationality). Any errors may result in the invalidation of Machu Picchu entries or train tickets without the right to a refund.

  • Passport Validity: It is the passenger’s obligation to have a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months upon entering Peru.

3. Cancellation and Modification Policies

  • Non-Refundable Permits: Per government regulations, Inca Trail permits and Machu Picchu tickets are personal, non-transferable, and 100% non-refundable once issued.

  • Cancellations by The Passenger:

    • 30+ days before: The non-refundable deposit is retained.

    • 15-29 days before: 70% of the total cost is retained.

    • Less than 14 days or “No Show”: 100% of the total cost is retained.

  • Modifications: Any date change requested by The Passenger is subject to availability and may incur administrative penalties from third parties.

4. Force Majeure and Safety

  • External Events: Cusco is a geographical area subject to sudden weather changes, strikes, or natural disasters. The Agency is not responsible for delays or cancellations arising from these events. However, we will manage alternatives to minimize the impact on the itinerary.

  • Travel Insurance: It is mandatory for The Passenger to have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical accidents, remote area rescue, and trip cancellations.

5. Health and Physical Fitness

  • When booking trekking or high-mountain tours, The Passenger declares to be in optimal physical condition. The Agency reserves the right to remove any person from a tour who risks their health or the safety of the group, without the right to a refund.
